Paint & Light Body Work Price???
Hi All, I have a 92 Camaro that is gutted and rusted floor have been cut out. It needs paint and about 20 hours of body work. Does anyone know any shops or someone working out of their home garage that could do this job for $5,000 or less? I am located in the just south of Boston, MA. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It depends on just how much floor has been removed. Do you have any photos.
As far as paint goes, mainly the shops I went to did not want any thing to do with a total prep/paint .The shops that did give me a quoit was $5,000.00 and up. (Thats using premium products). You may find a auto body shop that will do it for less but don't expect them to do the kind of prep./paint that the higher end shops will. Id start calling around and asking if they will do a full car .I'm fairly sure it will be a Base/Clear so if you want to keep the price down you can have them do it with lower end products, how much prep.you expect to be done also will affect the price.
Heres what a $5,000.00 paint job should look like.(it was done by a friend (professional painter) for $ 3,000.00.)

basically the floor has been removed from the firewall all the way to where the back seats start. I have a full new floor that i will be using for this work. I currently have the interior completely out and all of the trim off to make it easier. I am just looking for a single color base/clear. black. i will have the car sanded down and ready for paint.
Your car looks amazing. Does your friend live in or near MA?

Re: Paint & Light Body Work Price???
He has his own shop up in Oregon. He was down here in CA working temporarily at a auto repair shop helping out a friend for about 4 months. Thats how I managed to pay the shop owner to use his shop and mainly the paint booth after work. That 4 months he was down here IMO was a godsend. I had been saving for paint for over two years and just happened to have the money and he just happened to be here. What are the chances of that ?
