Shifter

I'm looking to put a ratcheting shifter in my 'bird. I was planning on getting the Console Megashifter from B&M, but when I checked w/ Jegs and Summit, they say it won't fit the 88 to 92 Formula. I was told by some moronic customer service rep at Jegs that "the consoles are different". Well, that was informative. If anyone has tried this install, and can tell me what the differences are, I'd appreciate it. If I've gotta cut away some plastic, that's allright. I just want to keep the interior as close to stock as possible. Thanks in advance.

91 Firebird Formula. Converted to carb. Holley 750. Forged Flat top pistons. 10.5 to 1 compression. ZZ-9 Cam. Ported L98 Heads.

12.98 @ 106 Natural,
11.83 @ 113 NOS.

Haven't done it myself (yet), but I think there are alot of posts on this in the aftermarket parts section - try searching there.

Basically, the word seems to be that the differences are slight and with a little careful dremelling, you can make it fit in a 'bird console.
