headliner board

so here's the deal. I busted my headliner board trying to pull it out when my tops were leaking. None of the salvage yards want to sell me a new one because they are afraid of damaging them and I don't want to give Classic Industries $189 +$136 for shipping...

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks, Mike

Believe it or not it can be repaired. Did it when I had the 86, worked excellent too. Buy some fiberglass cloth at the auto store and some good spray adhesive. Spray the part of the panel that needs repaired. Cut a piece of the cloth (oersized of course),soak it well with the spray and pu where you need it. Then spray the repaired area with somemore glue and work it into the mesh cloth. It may sound funny, but it works! Take your time a plan out how you want the repair to be. Works very well on the edges, as yo know they can be very brittle. When you go t recover, leave atleast 4 inches of material to fold over the top area. This is the area you can see into when you have your Tops off. By th way, you can buy headliner material at Jo Anne Fabric stores to do everything for about 20.00. This does work, by the way one reapired, let sit for atleast 24 hours for the glue to dry.
