i have no idea where to start
Hi everyone. First of all, I am not very mechanically inclined but I love cars none the less. I have always wanted and finally obtained a third gen camaro. It is an 86 z28. My two problems are I don't know where to go for interior parts like instrument clusters, audio wiring, window switches, ect. I also have no idea how to shop for parts for my engine/transmission. The camaro has a small block 350 paired with a t56 5 speed. I want to have a few modifications to the setup but I am mostly concerned with the interior and cosmetic parts of my car. I'm in love with this machine and want to get her looking her best. Thanks for any help I can get!

Congrats, hunting for parts is half the fun. Ebay is a good source.
Do a search(on ebay) with these exact words "82-92 Camaro". You will see alot of dash pads, door locks, window switches, and various engine parts. Surf thru page by page.
There is also Youngs F Body parts, Classic Auto industries, and Craigslist.
Google help me, then I set up a favorites list just for the car parts.
Got to be persistant, try not to over pay, shop the parts, usually guys that are parting out cars sell cheaper, find a local car and pick away. They are out there.
Take your time - have fun.

You are on the right track by starting here. Read everything!
Start at the home page here and read the technical info sticky on your year and model. First thing to do is to know what you have. Don't assume anything anyone told you about that car is correct, because it prob isn't. For example, the t-56 is a six speed that was in 4th gens and your car was not available with a 350 and manual.
So for starters, you need to find out for sure what drivetrain you have and where it came from. Always feel free to ask the forum to help identify, but please remember WE LIKE PHOTOS!
