Can the B&M Automatic Shifter be installed?
Can the B&M Automatic shifter be installed in a 88 Trans Am without hacking up the interior console. Is it a complete bolt on and pretty straight forward install?

You'll need to cut the top of the console to get the Megashifter's shift plate to fit. It's not too big of a deal... you can always get a junkyard console top and keep your original in case you ever want to "go back to stock". Ask in the transmission forum too, you'll find a few guys (including me) that've done it. I used a cutting tip on a soldering gun to cut my console top. The shift plate "just fit" between the bottom of my ashtray button and the top of my power window switches.

I installed mine without modifing a thing. It's an '83 however. I can't see why the acual shifter location would be different though. Good shifter.
