4th gen door panels
4th gen door panels
Hey all,
What do you have to do get them to fit? I'm pretty sure that you can't just pull off your old panels and pop these on. Any tips from people who have done this?
TIA,
Chris

um, are you saying you want to put 4th gen doors on a thirdgen? if so, i don't think you will have any luck because they are fiberglass and thirdgen doors are steel. fiberglass cars - corvette, 4thgen, Lumina APV/Lumina minivan - are built different and have different pins that engage with the frame under the rear fender so only the inner frame of the door to support stress and not the whole door, skin and all, like a steel car - thirdgen - will.
i imagine there's a way to do it, just saying you won't be taking a thirdgen skin off and just putting on a fourth gen skin in it's place.

Have you seen pics on here with 4th gen door panels and third gen dash boards? Or are you refering to the complete 4th gen interior install that was on here at one point?
The problem with the stock door panel and thirdgen dash is that the door panel sticks out fairly far when the door is closed. This would prevent you from being able to close your door unless you cut off that bulk at the front of the panel and rebuild it flatter with fiberglass or something.
Just my thoughts. It can be done, but it will require a lot of creative cutting and remanufacturing.
