Center consol carpet...

Im changing my interior to black from red, and was wondering how any of you changed the center concol carpet. Im considering dying it, as it is not in an area where everyday wear would fade it, but I am very reluctant to dye any interior parts. Is there an easier way?

i am doing the opposite color swap to my vert and since my car is not carpeted on the console, i am adding it. Should this be easy?
