Refreshing the trim around rear hatch?

Refreshing the trim around rear hatch?

any ideas or techniques to freshen up the black metal trim around rear hatch glass? mine is a little faded/rusty. thanks

Same thing is hapening to me and everybody else . best thing to do is remove the trim and bead blast. or a cheaper method is wire wheel. then respray and re install. thats the rout i'm going . quick fix is leaving them on the car and sand, or wire wheel , but first time you hit the glass you'll be sory! tape tape tape ..If its pitted bad from rust best thing to use is duplicolor truck bed liner in a spray can . practice first it comes out of the can rather fast and heavy. it will give it a nice uniform pebble effect . this will hide all the pitts LITE COATS 10 min dry between ......... its also great for cleaning up wheel wells . good luck

After I got mine cleaned up I painted it with SEM trim black out of the rattle can. Came out real nice. I just taped up the glass.

This is good info. The trim on my TA looks good, but the Camaro is a differant story.
