Paint Pealing. Does GM still fix it?

Paint Pealing. Does GM still fix it?
I just bought my ride in Spring '99. Now the paint starts pealing!!! A girlfriend of mine had a '91 back in '93 and GM paid to repaint the areas that were pealing. She paid the rest to just have it all repainted so that no more pealed off. Anyway, am I treading dead water? I heard that GM stopped fixing the prob. after the cars were 5yrs old. What's the word? It's the common hood and hatch problem. Am I SOL?
