Headlights quit working???

Okay, so my headlights finally gave out, I was driving(at night of course) and when I hit a bump my lights would flicker off, and i had to turn my brights on for them to come on, and now none of the headlights work, what should i do?

Re: Headlights quit working???

First thing I'd check is the headlight fuse. Bad fuse = no headlights. Could have just gotten wiggled loose by the bump. If the fuse is good, I'd check for voltage from the headlight switch on your dash.

Get under there and look. They are all labeled, you should be able to tell which one is for the headlights.

The headlight fuse

Should be labeled "HDLMP" or "HDLGHT" or something similar on your fuse block under the driver's side of the dash.

If you can't read the labels, check the owner's manual. If you don't have an owner's manual, do a google search.

Re: Headlights quit working???

check your fusible links, they are wires coming off the starter i had this exact same situation happen to me, things to buy to fix those the right way..
heat shrink
fusible link wire from autozone
dykes/ wire strippers
and something to put on the end of the wires to plug back onto the starter
a little bit of time too

Re: Headlights quit working???

My links look fine, i'm focusing on the dimmer switch now, but i'm confused, if the dimmer switch went out, why are my sidemarkers(amber side and front lights) my dash gauges and all lights but the 4 headlights still working?

Re: Headlights quit working???

Anyone with advice? All of my other lights work, all the interior lights, and amber sidemarkers, and brake lights work, just the headlights don't.
