I know tons of guys hate the look, but I love it! I use Gabriel sky-jackers. My inflation kit is the "custom" one, where there's one hose for each shock. This way I can add more air to the right tire to compensate for body twist when I drag race.
WARNING! I blew out BOTH of my upper shock mounts with the air shocks. When you do the install, you'll see that the upper shock mount is really just a hole in the car's body. That sheetmetal is thin up there.. and after driving around with my air shocks cranked up, the metal fatigued & cracked. Think of bending a paper clip back and forth and back and forth... snap! I had to rebuild each shock mount with 1/4 inch of steel bolted up there.. I check them occasionally, and they don't budge at all. They've been fine for quite a few years, in fact.
I think what caused my mounts to blow up was my "insanity" of putting the shocks up to 150 PSI. Now I keep them to 90 PSI- about where the car stops raising. This way, the shocks still have some "give" to them.
Oh, I think the Gabriels were about $60 each from Pep Boys, and the inflation kit was $20.

Air shocks. I had to have em put on to give my camaro a slight lift in the rear so the tires don't hit the edges of the fenders. Click on my link below and you'll see.
And no, I don't have a ****** or live in a trailer.

Toms right, when I had my 83 camaro in HS, I used the good old hillbilly 'put wooden blocks between the springs' approach. Within weeks it tore the damn floor out where the shocks mounted, leaving me with a quite disabled ride. Get some reinforcement on the rear shocks. If you lay down the back seat and fold up the carpet about a foot, you will see what I mean.

I THINK IT LOOKS GREAT!! on old mustangs, camaros, firebirds, chevells, novas etc... i dispise it on any 3rdgen. god i know a guy with a 6 cylinder at my school who has it, and cragers. its disgusting. i know another guy with a 67 mustang with a hypo289 and cragers. it looks mean as hell. i dont think the body lines of a 3rdgen go with a rake look very well.

forgot to mention it will totally screw up your alignment. so it will handle alot worse. (mainly because GM didnt design the cars that way.)

Don't make fun of the ******. It takes a lot of ***** to grow, nurture and display one, or it just takes a lack of style and/or not knowng which decade/century you live in. You pick. LOL
As far as raising your car, don't just raise the back, dammit! Raise the whole d#mn car. I hear a lot of folks talking about lowering ride height, here in NY, with all the pot-holes, I'm thinking how to get a hot-rod w/SUV ground clearance.
And make it look good at the same time.

just put collapsable wall drag slicks on the rims... when you floor it, it'll jack the rear end up 2 inches....
or just jack it up...
My friend with an 85 T/A did it, and it looks totally badass... I don't know how though, I'll talk to him and find out how and then reply...

83CrossfireBomb, have you been looking up close at my Firebird?
Those are the exact tire sizes I run... P225/60r15's in the front (15x7 rim), and P275/60r15's in the back (15x8 rim). With the larger rear tires, you don't notice a big gap between the tire & wheelwell. Of course, the car's higher in the back. With the donut spare on there, man, what a funny looking ride!
Hehe, actually, just like EVILFACE, I have BF Goodrich Radial T/a's. I also have his same wheels, except my 5-star isn't slanted (directional), they're straight. Deja-vu, anyone? EVILFACE, you have good taste!

A couple years ago I seen a thirdgen camaro that was lowered in the front, with the rear at normal hight. It actually looked pretty good.
raising the back would hinder cornering ability greatly I think.
