78-79 Shaker on a GTA Hood? Thoughts

Hey guys I've had this idea floating around in my head for some time. But what do you think of modifying a GTA or standard Firebird hood to accommodate a 78-79 shaker hood scoop? Functioning or course not a dummy scoop. If i use the GTA hood i would blank out the front inlet louvers and just keep the sides for air flow. I know i would have to reinforce the hood frame work for the opening to make it stronger. But i wanted to know what people thought of the idea and look.

Cool thank you, but do you think i should install the side vents too like in the GTA hood or just go with a plain firebird hood. Regardless by the pics it should look slick paired with the notchback i have on the car now.

Yes if done right it can look cool and I agree that a standard Firebird hood would be the best bet.
