Here's the pic of the El Camaro:

Here's the Choo Choo Camino:

I had a Choo Choo Camino and I loved it. This guy actually did a credible job of imitating it - I like it.

Re: holy El Camaro
Honestly.... one of the better looking el camino's I have seen ever pop up on CL. I had thought that the Camaro front end kit was a Choo Choo conversion piece, but must not be. There is a really nice one with this front end that shows at the Denver Super Chevy show from time to time.
I like it and if it were $1000 I would paint that thing black and park it next to my Z28s

Re: holy El Camaro
Looks a little nicer than the El Camaro I saw at the Pull-a-Part a few months back...
Re: holy El Camaro
That is not a Camaro front end on the El Camino. There was a company manufacturing imitation front ends for the El Camino using the Monte Carlo SS front end and also the IROC front end. The Monte Carlo front end was used by Choo Choo customs and a company from Indiana used the modified Camaro front end.

Re: holy El Camaro
A couple years back there was an ad up on my local craigslist for a kit that would convert a Camaro to a pickup truck. I don't think I ever tried to contact them but I wish I had. I'd love to know what in the hell it consisted of and what the finished product would have looked like. I was half expecting/ hoping to see that when I opened the thread.
I have found these oddities from around the net though:

...And then there's this Nissan Hardbody.

El Camino's are awesome, third gens are awesome, and trucks are awesome, but for the love of God please let them be awesome separately!

Lauren Engineering makes the body kits. I like the 91-92 z28 style kits. Looks really nice. I believe the El Camino is a few inches narrower than a Camaro so fitting a stock Camaro front end is difficult. Same with rocker panels, they are too long for an El Camino.
