needs to call his insurance company and say he hit something on the highway because that will almost total that car out

I hope he at least won something

Re: Now it needs body work - burnout gone bad...very, very

I don't like this...
It appears the rear tire blew up and went through the wheelwell, smashing the
rear hatch from the inside and then wrapped around the quarter panel destroying
it. Kinda scary to me because does that mean if I hit something on the freeway
it could come in the passenger compartment?

Shrapnel everywhere

Wow! How old were the tires? I had an ENTIRE WHEEL come off my 1st car,(doing about 55mph) and though it folded up the quarter panel, there was no passenger compartment intrusion....

The wheel well was probably rotted out, from the looks of the car,it doesn't look like it was maintained properly.

Re: Now it needs body work - burnout gone bad...very, very

i dont think you have to worry about stuff coming into the passenger compartment. the reason it tore out the inner wheel well was that the rubber had nowhere to go, when traveling down the highway, the car is moving, so chances are it will lay out behind the vehicle, just like when a big rig tire comes apart. I figure the reason his tire car apart was it was turning quicker than his speed rating allowed, couple that with the heat build up, and boom.

Sounded like his transmission shifted up to 3rd, about to go into over drive. So, 90+ mph burnout? I assume that will make any tire fly apart.
