Hey guys,

I have had a nasty dent on the passeger side of my cars bumper. Someone from my local area told me since the bumpers are made of plastic they are easy to fix with a heat gun. can anyone tell me or give a video that tells me how to get the bumper off so i can get to work?

any advice also i very much appreciated.

THANKS AGAIN GUYS!

Re: Removing the front bumper

I just took mine of about a few months ago for a similar reason.

First, I had to remove all the ground effects off of mine, an '82, so I'd start there.

Second, there are 2 or 3 bolts that are located inside the front fenders where the bumper bracket bolts to the fender, remove those next. You may have to remove the inner fenderwells to get access to these, but those are just a bunch of black push-pins and a few small screws.

Third, go underneath the car and remove the black push-pins that are located near where the air dam is located. One pin on each side should be kind of tucked up close to the fender, but the rest should be obvious to get to.

Fourth, removes the headlights, and the headlight buckets. The headlight assembly doesn't have to be removed, this is just to gain access to where the bumper bracket bolts to the front of the car.

Fifth, remove all of the bolts that connect the bumper bracket to the bracket that holds the hood-catch and turn signals. All of these bolts should be horizontal relative to the car(heads facing up). All of the bolts that are vertical(heads facing into the car) do not need to be removed unless you are replacing the front bumper itself.

Finally, pull the front bumper forward, making sure there is nothing still holding it into the fenders, nothing still holding it under the car, no gfx are still bolted to it, and nothing still bolting it to the hood-catch bracket. After a bit of massaging, the bumper should come right out.

Hope this helps.
