Just did my headliner in leather...
actually vinyl, but I prefer to say leather. Anyhow, I just redid my headliner in leather, and it looks badass! Is there enough of an interest in it for me to write up a tech article? If so, then I'll whip one together. I'm gonna post pictures when I can get ahold of a camera, btw.

I'd sure love to see pictures. I never thought of doing it in vinal, but I'd bet it would be a whole lot easer than fighting with that damned non-stretchable headliner material.

Easy. Remove the dome light cover and remove the two silver screws. Then slide the whole console towards rear of car. The console will come loose, and you will have to disconnect the electrical connector.

Sweet. I'd love to see a tech article, too. I have actually been planing on doing this for a while, but havent found the time. How much did it cost, and how much material did you need?
I kinda mis-measured the size of the leather I needed, so just above the sail panels, there is about 3/4" of carpet showing through...sigh...live and learn. Anyhow, you will need a sheet that is about 52 inches by 48 inches. I paid 16 bucks for mine, you can get it waaay cheaper, I'd imagine.
Got pics?

I left the existing cloth on, as I had no interest in breathing in fiberglass powder for several hours while working on the car. I used hot glue for the job as well. Very good results so far.
Yep, Wal-Mart for 7.66 for 2 yards, I would have done it already but I am waiting for an ABS platic headlinder to come in. Damn, you beat me too it. My question it, how did you get it around the T-Top where you have to like mold it up there, I was using a heat gun and it worked pretty well or do you not have T-Tops(they make it much harder).
I have mine covered in grey vinyl, it's sooo much better that that crap fabric that comes stock. It looks better and lasts longer than that stock fabric too. I paid $40 to get ine recovered at an auto interior shop and it was well worth it. I'm currently changing my interioir to black so i'm having it redone yet again but i am getting rid of the sun visors.... if anyone's interested in vinyl covered sunvisors, i have them on e-bay, here: vinyl sunvisors
