Hood strut pivot pins

Can these pins be removed and replaced? My hood blew up and trashed both hinges so I went to the jy and got two more hinges not realizing until I got home that the lower pivot pin for the struts were pretty much rusted away. being as they only swap parts and don't give refunds I guess I'm stuck with them.

Re: Hood strut pivot pins

I have one rusted away on mine. I was thinking of doing the same thing. Was planning to just weld the new one to the hinge. Don't see why it wouldn't work, as long as the weld is strong.

Pin from another hinge should work. Top and bottom are the same I believe. The bottom ones usually rust away from debris laying on top of them.
