What's Wrong With My Tach????

I just installed an Autogage 5" tach with shift lite. I set the shift point to 4200 rpm's the other day, and today when I was shifting the light didn't go off. I found out the reason when I turned the car off and turned the igition on, somehow the shift point moved up to 6000rmp. So I reset it and tried again and the shift point changed to 4000rpm. Why is the shift point changing, supposedly it can only change with the ignition on and turning the ****?

It shouldn't be able to change. Mine stays in the same place all the time. Does the the tach work alright other than that? Where did you decide to put it?

It's probably defective. I'd send it back, they'll replace it for ya. If im not mistaken i have the same exact tach as you wand mine doesn't move unless the ignition is on and the isn't running. Where did you buy it from?

I mounted it on the A pillar. The tach works great besides this one thing, I would hate to have to undo it and replace. My dad got it from Autozone.
