Z23? and Camaro emblems??

Alrigth i have to questions here. The first is no lie, I swear it. I was sitting next to a camaro and there it says on the side, IROC-Z23 ?? Did someone mess up on making those decals or is there some rare z23 that we don't know about?

Second one is, I have noticed a few thrid gens around town that instead of having like the RS or z28 emblem on the gfx and rebumper they have ones that juss say "CAMARO" and have the words "CAMARO" on the door handels? What year camaro is this? Or is that as model?

I know the SC's (I believe in 88) with gfx got the "camaro" badges. Only the one year though (maybe two) then the RS became the base model.

the decal is probably someone cutting out half of the 8 to try to be different or something. as for the thirdgens with the Camaro emblems, those where the sport coupes. I know they where available in 88, and i think in a couple of other years too, but i cant remember exactly when....

According to the history on this site, that Sport Coupe was available only in 1988. In 1989, the base model was the RS. Also, the 1988 Sport Coupe was the only ones to get the short wing.

That Z23 emblem is a fake. Sometimes people add stupid emblems trying to make there car look like a Z28, GTA, etc. even though its just a base coupe.

The "Camaro" on the door handle is an aftermarket item. I used to have them on my car from about '86 to '92 (mine said "Chevrolet").
