Question about cowl induction hood...
Question about cowl induction hood...
I am more than likely going to be getting a cowl hood for my camaro but i am unsure of a few things. 1) when it rains and or snows, wont this allow water to get into the engine (take in mind this car is my daily driver)...that was actually my only question other than any suggestions on where to order it from and what size opening to get? I'm leaning towards a 3in if i can...not really too sure...thanx for any help

I got my 4" from Glasstek. They don't have a website, but their phone number is on my web page and you can call and get their catalog. My car is not a daily driver so I can't answer for the snow if you leave it out. As far as rain, it will suck a little moisture in through the cowl, but not enough to cause any real problems. At least that's my experience with the hood.

My car has its own spot in the garage, so the only time it would really be exposed to snow or rain would be when i'm driving it or its either sitting out at work or at school...4" eh....sounds mighty nice

Cowl Induction hood
I have a real oddity. I have a 1986 6 cyl car flat hood with a 1969 camaro cowl scoop welded to it. Cowl hoods are great. I wouldn't worry too much about water getting into the engine. If you'd like to see pics of my hood, go to sethirdgen.org - then click on May's featured ride. Personally, I think my hood looks great. I haven't heard an unkind word about it yet.
