i just put in a 350 with a high rise and a holley and cant use the hood unless i cut it. i was told and kinda figured they were rare and was considering selling mine. i dont know what its worth though. its all there and the flaps work, no cracks. its painted pearl white with blue painted louver areas so it would have to be painted.

any ideas on what its worth?

whatever you do, dont cut that hood up. keep it in circulation. there arent too many of those left and besides, a cowl hood or a s.s. hood would work better with your new intake. just sell it.

 

What kind of intake do you have?The reason im wandering, i had a stock camaro hood and ran a performer rpm.But i have a z28 fiber glass hood and it looks like it has less clearance because of the scoupes.

well i dont have any pics of the hood but thats easy enough to get. i would be willing to get pics up depending on how serious you are on buying it and what its worth and how much you wanna give.

the intake that came with the 350 i put in is a weiland single plane high rise, it doesnt say what kind of weiland on the manifold anywhere and the only picture i have found of it elsewhere is in a Summit catalog from 99'. its the carb/manifold/aircleaner combo they sell.

its got short straight huge runners.

im not gonna cut up the hood though

the hoods really arent worth a fortune. if you can find em in junkyards they will usually go from anywhere from 30 bucks all the way to 125. of course shipping that big sob would cost that much if not more.

the junkyards around here want 50- 100 bucks for just any hood off a 3rdgen. if thats all its worth ill just hold on to it.

CFI hoods have to two inlaid louvers on them like other Z28 hoods except the flaps open up at WOT. it has duel throttle bodies with a single air cleaner that the gromet from the hood flaps sits on. its a cold air induction deal.
