Preserving Leather Seats. How?

Can I do anything to make my leather seats last longer? I have an 88 GTA with 2 gray leather seats. The leather is starting to crack a little. Will keeping the car out of the sun and heat help ? How about putting some lotion on it ?

Thanks

Take them out of the car and put them in a dark climate controlled room.

Other than that, regular conditioning treatments and minimal exposure to the sun is probably your best defense. The leather seats I bought already have that lovely *** -rub that they're famous for, so I condition mine at least once every other week.

Meguiars sells a decent leather conditioner. I use that. I was told that baby oil works well also, but I am not too sure about that one. But if it keeps a babys A$$ soft, why not the leather seats.

Right! Also known as a "garage" which I haven't been able to put the car in for 5 weeks due to inept mechanics, and overbooked competent mechanics... My car has been sitting out in the blistering heat, windows up, probably, on different mechanics' lots for the last 5 weeks, everything inside melting into a recyclable blob on the floor no doubt.

Thanks for the info. I have some spray somewhere for "patent" leather. Can I use that ? (Assuming some day I get my car back).

Lexol is another good product with both a cleaner and conditioner available.
