I took Fiberglass resin & some thin fiberglass to reinforce mine. Took about a week to do...
I found out the down side is if you have a minor leak in the T-tops it tends to run to the back of the car and drips on the back seats. The original fiberboard seams to absorb some minor drips. Matter of fact, some of the later T-top headliners had a palstic coating that the headliner matierial/foam was glued to. My 83 had nothing just fiberboard, my 87 had a plastic film...
I think you can buy them through Classic industries. Covered or not.

im looking to redo my head liner as well. only thing i want to do is mold a little something into the headliner above where the mirror should be ( took mine off ) and place a radar detector in there and than run the wires across the headliner. only problem i got is how do i fiberglass the headliner if the headliner is that foam stuff?

I tried redoing my headliner in april. It looked good for a day and then it started sagging. I didn't use fiberglass on it though because I have no idea how to lay fiberglass. I suggest you just get a new headliner if your not good with gluing fabric. I got the one peice headliner from thirdgenresource and it looks great.
