Jamming different than body color

On a car getting a black interior, but a different exterior color (like red or yellow or orange), would jamming it black look weird ?

I've always done flat black frame and engine bays and that was always acceptable. I'm curious about jamming the car to match the interior and spraying the body a different color.

It's your car, matters not what others think. If you like it go for it. If you ask my opinion, I say it wouldnt look right. You would have a strange break in the colors on the jam where the quarters meet it. Totally stripped everything off my car for paint cuz I did a color change. PITA but nothing done right is easy

The whole thing is media blasted so right now it's just metal colored with a zinc coating.

I was thinking of two-tone orange and black, black behind on the bottom and other accents. But was wondering about jamming it black too..

Re: Jamming different than body color

I would definitely paint the jams the same color as the car .

I'd just be afraid it would look like a poorly done color change. You have too much effort in it to let that even be a passing thought when you have a door open at a gas station or something lol.

I think Joe hit the nail on the head there. When you see jambs painted a different color it looks like a poorly done color change, which is clearly NOT what you doing. Sounds like you'll have a hell of a car when you're done

That's kinda what I figured. Will jam it the same as the exterior color.

Thanks guys!

Will post pictures once it's done.

Re: Jamming different than body color

Run your two tone break line through the jamb. Huge PITA, but it looks good and gives you what you're looking for, if the bottom color is black that is.

Re: Jamming different than body color

I would stick with body color as well for the above reasons. If you want some extra pop on the jambs, pinstripe might work or color LED accents that maybe make the jambs look a different color when lit. The problem with highlighting jambs or door edges is that those areas aren't usually visually appealing ( latches and hinges) so you don't want to attract the eye to it.

Re: Jamming different than body color

To me, different color door jambs are the biggest giveaway that a car has had a backyard rattle can color change, which is a HUGE turnoff for me. Leave them body color.
