my NightRider seats are truning an ugly drak green color, I think i need to re dye them, does that spray on dye in the car work, will it rub off onto my cloths and how long does it last?

 

I've never seriously used the stuff on cloth but, in my suburban I had, the dye rubbed from the carpet easily. If it waas rubbed enough with the hand, it would eventually turn the color of the dye but washed off easily. Just for curiosities sake, I have tested it on a small spot of cloth, it seems to take alright to it but, color (black) didn't seem to take well to soaking in and the spot turned sort of,, crispy. A good place to go to ask might be an upholstey shop in you area, they might be able to point you in the direction of a better dye for the application other then the commercially available MarHyde or Duplicolor. (Assuming you are talking about cloth seats)

Don't do it. I did to mine and the front seats started to wear off and it stains easily. But my rear seat looks great (doesn't get used). And if you dont get an even coat it looks like crap. It only lasted about 2 months on the front seats. There is a site that sells new upholstery for thirdgen cars and door panels at www.mrmikes.com . Leather is like $600-$700 front and rear(comes with everything you need), and leather door panels are $300/pair. I kind of stubbled onto it one day looking for seats after I ****** mine up.
