Hatch Question

Can the sheet metal portion of the hatch be easily seperated from the glass portion? If so how. Just curious if anyone else has done this. See if there is an easy way to do it before I go ripping into mine.

Yes--there's bolts on the bottom--where the metal and glass meet. There's maybe 4 bolts--been awhile but just start taking apart the plastic trim and you'll see what I'm talking about.

You will also have to take a puddy knife to slip between the glass and hatch to release the black goo.

When I put one back together I used 100% Silicone (NOT LATEX SILICONE). goop it in and smmthe it out where it shows. you might even want to get some strip caulk. It comes in a box and is black, you take it out 10" strip by 10" strip. neet stuf to work with. Keep in mind it gets your hads gooie.

John

I think I used the word "goo" twice in this post. I am not sure but that may be the first time ever on-line I have ever used the word "goo".
