anyone seen a spoiler like this?

sup y'all, had this baby for about 4 years now. Came with this 60's scoop style spoiler on it. Never have seen another one. Anyone have a clue where it came from? (old pics sorry, looks much better now) ;-]

It looks like it came from a second gen and they cut out a third brake light. The second gens had either a very small spoiler similar to that (70-73 only I believe). Then after that, they solely used the large wrap around like the one you have but yours doesn't have the 2nd and third pieces on it. I don't think they would have worked.

I've seen one like that around here, I think it's an aftermarket piece, not just a modified 2nd gen spoiler. deffinately an attention getter

Yah, the flares came with the car as well, very 2nd gen, but the spoiler is def. not a modified 2nd. It's an original aftermarket piece that came with the set of flares i'm guessing. Just wondering where from or if y'all seen it before. Definitely unique around here. The spoiler is not quite as upright as the 67-68 birds and camaros, but it's the same idea, a flatter one piece scoop. I'll have some new pics of my car up soon. ..

It's an aftermarket spoiler made by A&A.

OldBLue - haha, give me break man, you need to look a little closer, or get a better monitor!

Jim85Iroc - does A&A have a website? Thanks.

I THINK I have seen that before. I will have to look it up, but I am thinking that Pontiac actually did something like that for a few years as an appearance upgrade. Like the W68 Sport appearance package on the newer cars.

The hood is T/A, and would not have come on that car.

It seems to me like there was a package that was similar to the TA that was offered in 89-90 that was like a T/A, the biggest appearance difference was the spoiler and the hood. Since you have an 88 that wouldn't apply.

Check your build sheet to see if you have a WS3 option.

In the Nov 2001 issue of High Performance Pontiac, they reprinted an 1983 article about Herb Adams' VSE Fire-Am (modified Trans Am). The spoiler on the rear of your car looks very, very similar to the Herb Adams spoiler but in '83 there was no third brake light, so it is solid all the way across.
