What type of parts car can I use?
I have a 92 Trans Am with front end damage. Theres an 88 that I wanna use for parts. Would it be possible to use body parts from the 88 on my 92? I would need the hood, fenders, bumper, and lights (eyes). Also I want to try and use the full ground effects off the 88. Is this possible?

Thanks. Also I planned on engine swapping for a 5.7L 350. Are they any good?

If you're asking if the Chevy small block 350 is any good then yes, its probably one of the greatest engines ever produced .Its used in an uncountable amount of cars, vans, and trucks and is one of the most dependable engines ever built.
Read this article and you will get a detailed description of its history.

You can use all that fom the 88, but none of it will fit the rest of your 92. 91-92 has different front end and ground effects. Just look at some pics from the different years and go through the year by year info section of this site and you will see that you need a 91-92 parts car.

If you change the front end you will also have the change out the wiring as well. Not the same hook ups.

Re: What type of parts car can I use?
You will find that a lot of the 88 parts are similar, but not close enough to fit or look correct. You're better off with a base model '91 Firebird parts car that has the factory W68 body kit (which is the majority of them), only body difference between that and your car should be the hood, and there should be plenty of them out there. 1985-92 T/A hoods are not that hard to find separately either.
As far as reliability, parts availability, and cost to repair, the Chevy 350ci is maybe the best engine ever made. Just don't be thinking you're going to be able to keep up with modern performance cars with a stock one.
