Not sure where else to put this
THE HEADLIGHT!!! Okay so I'm not sure if this is in the right thread or not but I hope ya'll don't mind too much. Driver side headlight, won't. Go. Down. Big surprise huh? Goes up just fine but when I shut my headlights off the passenger side goes down fine but the drivers side won't even budge. I'm not sure if there's a loose wire or if the motor just went out completely.

Re: Not sure where else to put this
Was this something that just developed?
First check the wiring to it.
If that looks good you can try turning the adjustment **** to manually raise and lower the lights. If it's hard to turn don't force it, because that would mean it's binding somewhere. Normally when they fail it's due to the plastic wearing down and the lights getting stuck down. Because the geared wheel that turns moves freely.
If you do take it out know that when you remove the headlight motor from the light assembly there are springs and bushings inside it, so don't let them fire across the shop or garage. I used paper clips cut in half to put them back together. Not fun but not difficult.

Yes I can manually turn it down. An no it didn't recently develope the previous owner said it had always been like that as long as he had it. Like I said it raises just fine but it doesn't even attempt to go bak down

If it can turn down that means it isn't getting locked up.
Just noticed this is for an '84 I can't help too much with the older design, but here's this thread.

It looks like that one headlightmotors.htm.txt after downloaded and renamed has info in it about the relay setup. Apparently the older design used multiple relays.
