Carpet and padding replacement questions
I am currently redoing my Camaro inside and out. Well, I started on the first half of the carpet, out with the old.
Some questions. What's the best replacement carpet out there? I'm assuming that I'll want to replace the padding too. I think I have some house carpet padding laying around, is that sufficient? If not, what's the best replacement padding?
Prices and links are much appreciated.
Oh, and let me know if anyone has questions on removing any interior panels, since I just did all of that stuff.

ACC has real good carpet. go look on ebay I think the kit is around $100 for the carpet. just what ever you do dont go with any of the JC whitney stuff or anything like that. sure its cheaper but the end result doesnt look good

you can get the padding from www.amesperf.com They only deal will pontiacs but the camaro interior is identical.
the acc carpet I bought and any acc carpet I think comes with the padding sewn to it.It is thinner then stock. If your old padding is not wet at all I reused mine.If you double the padding be sure to cut out the padding around the gas pedal or it wont go to the floor. If your old stuff stinks or is damp at all I would get new stuff or use what comes with the carpet.Putting in 2 pieces of paed didnt make as much diff. in noise as I thought it would.

I replaced the carpet in my '84 Camaro by ordering the molded stuff from Classic Industries. It's as good as facto-original. I had to order it for the trunk and main area of the car (roughly $100 a piece).
On my carpet, the padding was already adhesived on it and sat right in place like the factory stuff.
I also ordered and used the rubber carpet underlay kit (was never in my Z). It makes for a NICE sound deadener.
I have some picks and better info on my web site in the section about my floor pan replacement.
Hope this helped.
