Need help before I paint my GTA rims tomorrow!!!

I am planning on repainting my GTA rims black again tomorrow. They are faded. Do I need to sand them first? I heard that it will stick better to the old paint...should I just buy the spray can stuff and just spray it...or should I sand, prime, then paint? What paint should I use? I am in need of help ASAP since I am doing this tomorrow. Thanks. Any tips? Also...I am going to repaint the black metal strips on my t-tops and the black metal around my hatch....what paint should I use for them? I need to sand them first since the t-top metal is worn down to the gray and the hatch metal is rusted a little. Please give me as much help as you can give me, I appreciate it.

James

Definitly sand, prime and paint. Sometimes two different types of paints don't gel well with each other and the paint will begin to bubble from underneath and then you'll get to paint them again.
