Spots of my digital dash in my GTA are dark. Are these things back lit with 194s or is it more complicated than that?

The didgets & such were some sort of High intensity liquid something or another. there not LED's or LCD's. It is something else. I have them on my RIV, I think when they go bad, thats it, you can only replace the pieces. (good luck finding the components) Our OEM radios used the same technology. LED's were not bright enough until recenly so they were not used.

Yeah, Ive had my dash apart, and its just the little bulbs. My systems check and odometer/trip area went dark on me, replaced the bulbs, and its good as new. Replace the bulbs first!
