kameleon paint?

I am a new third gen owner and not to mention I'm only 17. But I was wondering what everyone thought about doing the whole car in kameleon paint probably the silver/green paint. So if anyone has done this can you please post pics.

But if i wasn't going to do the whole car in kameleon I was wanting to do the rally strips and was going to add the hockey stick strips on the side and do them in kameleon.

Wanting thoughts on which idea I should do or if I should do either one and if anyone has pics please post them.

have you checked on the price of color shifting paint ? ck. it out , you may change your mind . (most likely more than the cost of your car) good luck .

Re: kameleon paint?

The cost will be expensive, not to mention if you ever have to repair a scratch or something like that, it is difficult to do. I've seen it on a thirdgen before, the car was mostly black and had a dark purple/blue chameleon stripes it was pretty subtle in contrast to the black paint so it didn't look "poor AND tacky" but rather thought out and flowed very well. I personally am not a fan of it, but if it's something that suits your taste, by all means go with what you think looks good.

I have looked into the cost and know how much it cost. But I got my idea from this thread

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/auto...-kameleon.html

And although I'm not the biggest flame fan I do like how the color looks. And thought maybe it would look good in the stripes possibly as well.

Re: kameleon paint?

There are a few brands that have color shifting paint. I have some of the HOK red to gold and really like it for small additions. OP, you'll need to base the car in black before you apply it, so that'll add a few bucks to the bottom line and the nature of the paint tends to show every available defect. Although I'm not a racist, crimson-collared okie with questionable grammar, I agree that painting the entire car in color shifting paint can be a bit much.

Re: kameleon paint?

Leave it to a teenager to bring a question about paint down to an argument about racism.

As far as being on topic, the paint wouldn't really go well on a third gen. It would look better on an expensive import or an old Impala or Cadillac. Lowrider paint doesn't go on an old American sports car. You would spend probably triple what the car is worth in paint, and then when you scratch it you'll have to pay a very large sum to get it fixed. Use the money to pay for some wheels or a normal paint job, or to fix the car up mechanically or restore it. You could do a LOT with the money it would cost you to paint it Kameleon.

There's a 2008 Mustang GT with Kameleon paint that has been sitting at the front of a used car dealership near me for a long time. The things that I've heard said about it have been less than flattering.
