What GM cars have cool auto shifters?

I've been doing some thinking, and it looks to me like most any GM console-style shifter **** should fit in an F-car. What cars have cool ones? I don't mean the ugly *** button on top nothings, either. Some nice T-Handled ones would be cool. TIA

If you can find a floor shift G-body, they look good if I remember right.

Generally all the floor shifted automatic GM cars use the same shifters. Chevys use the Camaro style, Pontiac used the Firebird style T-handle... There are some variations, but they're all basically the same.

86 G-Body shifter here. It looks pretty cool.

I dunno, I guess I'm leaning more towards the newer look. Still kinda t-shaped, but sleeker now. And definitely Pontiac, come to think of it, Chev does have the ugly shifter.

The one I want has the same shape or basic shape like that but ist not so square. Either that B&M or the Hurst ratchet shifter. Its about 140.00 in the summit catolog.

I personally like the button on top. But I saw this car, I've got a picture arond ehre somewhere, with one that looks like the thortle of an aircraft. Two metal pieces with a bar in the center and a button on the left side.

Chevelle and Chevelle SS from the late 60's had that shifter, except the button was under the crosspiece on them. Very awesome shifters.

Not sure of the year, but how about one out of around an 84-86 Hurst Olds? I think they look tough!

OK, now you got me thinkin'. Why not go for a set of Hurst lightning rods from an '83-'84 442? Should be the same tranny, right? That would be sweet in a gen-3 F-body. And not only are they rare, but your buddies will think you're some kinda genius for even knowing how to use the thing.

Look for some cadillacs, they resemble the Firebird style with a "t" style. The difference is on the (Pontiac) style the button is on the left side and to push it in with your thum (we all know that). The Cadillac is underneeth and you pull up with your fingers.

I have considered going that way personally.

Unfortunately finding a Dark Gray one might be a chore, Black or Brown is possible.

My dad's caddy is a 92 Eldo if that helps.

I thought the same thing, then I took 10 seconds to read the little instruction thingie with the pic. That explains the entire operation, and it seems pretty easy.

You can also try the bonneville's--especially the SSE's(floor shifter)--they have the exact same shifter as the T/A's--in leather too!
