any one have ram air for an 86 bird 2.8?

any one have ram air for an 86 bird 2.8?

I need to know how to modify my air box to let more air in, i have a 86bird 2.8 V6, any one with info on this or a picture would be great-please dont refer to the camaro ram air intake upgrade casue my intake looks nothing like that.

I think it should look something similar to the TPI intake. I removed the top plastic cover and only left the metal piece that retains the air filter on my 87 Formula.

it would be a start. there are pix around here somewhere...

On a v6 I'm not sure that will make a difference, but hey its you car.

sure it will make a diffference but if i owned make one for your self, everylittle thing helps.

In my old 2.8 firebird, I replaced the goofy plastic contraption that went between the Mass Airflow Sensor and the throttle body with a piece of 3" flex tubing. I paid like $6 for it at Pep Boys and cut it to length. In addition, I cut a bunch of extra holes in the airbox, and ran it (briefly) without the air filter. Holy bejusus what a difference! The car responded very, very well to the mod. I lost a lot of the improvement when I put the air filter back in, but it still helped a lot, especially in cold weather.

WOW My first car was an 86 2.8 Camaro, But have now moved on to a 88 v8 Firebird, dont think i will ever buy another type of car.
