IROC-Z rim sizes ?

I drive an 88 IROC-Z with the 15 inch wheels. Can anybody tell me what the width of the rim is or what the size of the widest tire that will fit?

Justin.

As far as I know. All IROC's came equipped with 16" wheels, and 245/50ZR16 tires.

your rim is a 15x7. it might be stamped on the inside of the wheel actually. and yes starting in '88 irocs could come with 15" wheels. they looked just like the 16" versions, and essentially were except they were 15x7 and the other wheels were 16x8.

your car would have come with 215/65R15's. Go with 235/60VR15. it'll be wider and it won't throw your speedo off. anything wider than that size is pointless and stupid. I know, I once had 275/60SR15's and they threw the speedo off alot, and they practically were bulging off the wheel. just go with the 235/60VR15, or find some 16" iroc wheels. their size is 245/50VR16.

In 88 the 15" wheels were the standard Z28 wheels that came on the cars since 82. It wasn't until 89 that the "Mini Me" wheels came about.
