Painting a car..

Hey guys I have a question about painting a car. First of all, i've preped a car to be painted before so i know all about what a pain in the ***** that is. I've watched someone paint as well. But how hard is it really to paint a car? or even just a hood? I want to know if its worth it to buy a compressor (getting anyway) and a paint gun. I have watched it done in a gas station and it does not seem taht hard to do. Right now i just have to paint my hood (fiberglass) and front clip (also fiberglass). I was going to have Maaco paint them but i know they won't use the flexi paint additive becuase the guy told me why don't we just do your whole car. Frankly, Maaco is not the place i would take anything mroe then just my hood to.

Thanks

Matt

Do you guys know any web sites or books explaining just what is involved in doing such a job?

Painting is not difficult it just takes experience. Too much it runs, not enough an it can look like orange peel.

Never too early to start learning, There is always the sand and re-paint system
