I am taking my Camaro in tomorrow getting custom carpeting put in, a tears in my leather seats fixed, and getting my back armrest panels for the back seat wrapped in vinyl. This makes my entire interior BLACK, VERY VERY VERY black. It needs some color or something some kind of accents. I want to see others cars that they have done to the dash specifically to give me an idea of what to do. The exterior is very red, and I am getting it painted candy apple with pearl clear coat. So I want to add red, but anywhere where color accents help, I need to know. Some of the plastic pieces I was thinking of making from aluminum and painting those would that look good? I am also moving to the 4th gen console.

Were you getting ideas about candy apple red from somewhere else?? BTW, 4th gen console you probably know won't work with camaro radio pod. I don't know if a 3rd get firebird pod would fit in a camaro. From what you've said though u want to do the dash as well. Since 72buickgsx posted it http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/clutch/63/ that a dash swap is possible I say why the hell not go for it. Gives me something to think about... If you want to add red accents the only thing I could think of for the interior would be to sew in custom shapes (flames, etc) into the black doorpanels. You probably red a lot of the other stuff though.

I saw on this site a while back where this guy had the flames on the doors, and the candy apple, and I emailed him along time ago, and told him how much I liked and to tell you the truth the red was SO sweet, I have to have it for mine. He said it was cool :-) Was that you? Or do you know him? I just want to get something a bit custom not just way over the top. The new seats make the interior look ten thousand times better. So now its time for the rest.

I'd like to see you go for this, you got the exact same car (you posted on the TBI board so it seems you got the 5.0 too!) No you never talked to me about the flames on the door before, it came to me to be the only good custom image to put on. You've got it easy though with a black interior, I've got damn red!!! I want black but those damn back panels.. Everything is pretty nice though so I'm happy.

 

My damn microsoft link is gone, but this guy had this awesome camaro Z, that had the flames in the door etc... It was very cool. Trying to do waht I can. I am putting in the red accented sony Xplod sound system, that perfectly highlights it all.... Very cool

I jsut did the GT steering wheel and 95 Z28 charcoal leather seats. Next is carpet, having the back side panels covered in vinyl and reattached, the words "camaro" embroidered in red on the seats, and having the arm rests re done. I am getting all of the for 450 out the door. I should also mention that I am having a custom carpet made and both of my seats need new leather pieces on them. GREAT deal, I was getting quotes for 650 all over the place, and I trust the shop as they redid my convertible top. Email me sometime.. We can discuss our car options... later

it's about time someone posted a dash conversion.

by the way what's wrong with candy red??

depending on what "candy" your planning i wouldn't put a pearl in the clear. many cars today have factory tri-stage colors that are considered "candy", you could put a pearl over those and it would look sharp.

"brandywine" is the color you guys are talking about; it's about the closest thing to candy you can get, it's from house of colors. a very nice color, but it also can depend on the knowledge of your painter.
