Best way to get water smell out

On my RS, I just used 1/2 a quart of Febreeze on my seats, carpets, and door panels. Is this the best stuff to use? My t-tops leak, but not badly by any stretch. Neither does it really smell that bad. I know the only real way to get rid of the smell is to get a new carpet, (and re-pad the seats?), but in the meantime, what's the best de-odorizer to use?

Despite the fact I leave towels under the spots it leaks on every time it rains, the damn car still manages to smell a bit

Spraying Febreeze on a wet or leaky interior is like spraying Febreeze on a turd. It's still gonna stink. You gotta get rid of the cause of the odor first, which means fixing any leak, then killing the mold or whatever started growing as a result of the trapped moisture. Only when things are dry and stay dry will the Febreeze or any odor killer work.

Well, while the t-top gaskets are not rotted, they are flattened somewhat from age. And of all the shops I have talked to, no one wants to touch the gaskets and GUARANTEE they won't leak afterwards. I've gotten estimates between 5 and 700 to have both sides done, but with no guarantee??? Yeah right...

Does anyone know of a place in the Northeast that does quality t-top gasket repair?

If you have any faith in your ability to follow directions, you could order a t-top kit from TACreations for $160, both sides. (It is a GM weatherseal kit as well)

Take out the seats, get out the hair dryer and start drying. Kill any mold you can find (especially under the carpet). Then shampoo it, Febreeze it and Scotchguard it.

shampooo the carpets, just goto autozone and pick up some sort of spray on rub off carpet shampoo, thats what we did on my friends old T\A and after the third time of cleaning the smell starts to go away.
