Overhead console questions

Hey guys, posting for a friend again about an over head console in a 83 (I believe) berlinetta. it has the console with the movable light, leather pouch, and all the other "goodies" up there. now my question is, how hard is it to take it out and put it into a 91 camaro. what wires are necesarry to hook it up and are there holes already in there that the originals would screw into?
So, basically We can get it for 25 dollars, and it is in really good shape. Basically want to know how to get it out and install it and have everything working.
Thanks again
Nate.

The overhead console is a cool addition to thirdgen cars. They were produced from, I believe, 84-87. At any rate, there are two versions, a coupe and a T-top; they are not interchangeable. There should be two screws under the dome lens. Remove these, then for a coupe push the console forward and it will drop off the four mounting studs (if a t-top push toward the rear of the car). Once down, snip about six or eight inches of wiring harness off. The coupe version will have a carboard/foam reinforcement piece under the underliner. The holes were pre-drilled in my 85. Beyond that I can't say. Go to the tech article for more info.

I just bought an incomplete one from a junkyard for a T-top car and I had to push it forward.

Yes...On T-top equipped cars you have to push forward to remove it and on the coupe version you have to push to the rear of the vehicle to remove it..I know,i just installed a T-top version yesterday on my 89Z.
