GP on Corbeau Racing Seats
Hey I really didnt know were to post this were everyone would most likely see it and give them a chance to get in on it but.... I have started a GP with a Corbeau dealer for some racing seats. With 13 orders we can get the Forza style racing seats for 190 each which are normally 220. You can view the seats here at this website:
http://www.corbeau.com/brochure/index.html
Now we are not limited to just one seat style so if you want a differnet one post and say so.. however we can not get a discount on all the seats we do have to limit it the GP to just a few different styles so hopefully we can decide on a few styles and still make everyone happy. So post and let me know if your interested or email me.
Thanks, Mike

I like the carrera seats also. I've been considering them for a long time. I have seen a lot of complaints about the quality of Corbeau seats though. I'd like to hear from people who have these seats or have had them before.

Ok guys heres your answers... I'm not completely sure but I think we can get the Carrera seats for 314. I'm going to try and call them tomorrow and if I cant I will definately get ahold of them on Tues. As for people that have had these seats before there is only one person that has responded about these seats.. (see the Group Purchase thread at www.camaroz28.com and check out the post for this GP) ... however he was comenting on the Targa RS I believe. These Carreras that you want to get are brand new for this year I believe they have strong fabric on the wear areas to prevent what eventually happens with the seats like the Targa RS style seat. So hopefully these Carreras will be a better seat then the rest of the Corbeau line up. But again yes these seats are more expensive. I believe we have decide to go with the following style seats for this GP, the Forza (cheapier model for the budget guys, non reclinable) and the Carrera (more expensive model but fully adjustable) so let me know what you think so far this is how many people we got going...
7 for Camaroz28.com
1 for MNFbody.com
5 for Thirdgen.org
3 for myself, brother, and friends
so that gives us a total of 16 orders. Is there anyone else interested? If we can get to like 20 orders then we could be looking at some better pricing.

I am interested in the Carrera seat as well, however, before I splurge on these I want to hear some opinions! Is there a deadline for this GP?
Thanks

Well heres the thing about the deadline... there isnt one because I have not started it yet. I'm just organizing people together figuring out what everyone wants and what we can do. Now when everyone has agreed on everything and everyone knows what they want... I'll give you a phone number to call and all you'll have to do is call it and say your part of the Corbeau Forza, Carrera seat GP that Mike Ries has organized. They'll take down your name and your order.
So now what I would like everyone to do is send me and email at IROCU26@hotmail.com and I would like you to include your name, address, what year and kind of car you have, what style seat you want, what color, and how many you want.
When I have all of this information I will call in and find out what price he can give us and what shipping and all of the fine details.
As for leather the option is rather expensive I believe it is 399 or 499 per seat.

Here we go guys!! He finally emailed me back with some prices. Heres an exact copy of the email he sent me and damn these are good prices compared to the normal ones. By the way if this is the first time you have seen this these seats can be viewed at this site:
http://www.corbeau.com/brochure/index.html
Heres the email:
Mike,
OK, here is the Deal. I have priced these BETTER than the last time we did the GP. Just remember that in order to get these prices the following 2 things need to be met/used.
#1. There MUST be at LEAST 10 poeple that place seat orders. Until we get 10 people, the orders will be held, after that, their orders will be processed immediatley.
#2. They MUST use the correct Group Purchase number (GP-8557-01)
Here are the prices for the G/Purchase:
Forza $184.99/ea
Targa RS $269.99
Carrara $309.99
Options:
Leather $349.99 (adds to the seat price)
Wide Version : Add 15%
Inflatable Lumbar $39.99
Seat Belt (Harness Pads) $13.50/per seat
Brackets with Sliders (except adapters)
"A" Adapter flats (re-use factory sliders where available) $24.99/per seat
"C" Custom brackets $52.99/per seat
"D" Custom brackets $63.99/per seat
"E" Custom brackets $69.99/per seat
"F" Ladder Bracket (mounts 2 seats) $139.99
With these great prices, I would like to have the bulk of the orders starting now & within the next 2 weeks if at all possible. Lets go ahead and start NOW. Please have the 4 people advise us when they order, that they are part of the group of 4 who wants them shipped together.
Also, please make sure everyone is aware that there may be some delays on seat brackets. Some brackets are actually made, as they are ordered. So there may be a week or so delay on them.
Have them start calling us direct to place their orders NOW!! Again, I cannot reiterate enough, that the prices I have given you, are the lowest we have ever done. These are even better than the "Mustang" GP we did a while back!!!
there ya go guys he even got better prices then I thought we would have!
-Mike
The phone number to call is:
1-800-44-STANG / 1-800-447-8264
Dont forget to tell them the GP number mentioned above, GP-8557-01 so you get the discounted prices.

Also a note make sure you know what bracket you need, if you have a 3rd gen camaro/firebird it is the "C" bracket part number C22024 (same for both sides) if you have a 4th gen it is the "D" bracket part number D1068T (again same for both sides)
If you have any other kind of vehicle you can look up the part number here:
http://www.corbeau.com/bracket.html

Not a problem... I dont mind getting everyone a deal. This was orignally just going to be for my Minnesota F-Body Club..(www.mnfbody.com) but I thought why not let everyone have the chance to get in on it. This site has helped me out in the past numerous times.. time to give a little back

Call the number and tell the person that answers that you want to place an order for which ever corbeau seats you want and then mention you are part of a GP, then he will probably ask you for a GP number either that or just tell him the number above. Then he'll ask you about ordering info and thats it seats are on the way .

Is there a deadline? I'd like to ante up for the Targa RS's but I have to wait till the green comes in in a few weeks.

Heres a reply from Tony about the shipping:
Mike,
Yes we have! If you do not mind, e-mail everyone that is involved & let them know that the orders will start shipping this week! Please also inform them to NOT to call Corbeau directly, as they are only the manufaturer & do not sell directly to the public. If they need status, please call us. Please also make sure they are made aware of the orders will be shipping this week, so they should start receiving their orders, LATE this week thru the following week!

I just got mine Thursday. They said that they only had 5 sets of brakets for Camaro/Firebird and I was 6th on the list. They had to have some more made,so you should get yours this week.

Just a prewarning if you havent ordered it yet. Im 6'4" and had these with the adapters
I could not fit. My head would hit the headliner unless I was pimped back The adapter brackets jack it up another few inches. I guess thats why they call it a headliner

Wow those Carrera's look awesome
If I bought them, what would be the situation with the seatbelts?
I would like to avoid the seatbelts out of the headliner
How do you attach the seatbelts to the harness style seats?

Ok guys sorry it took me so long. I ran into a bit of a problem.. broke my right foot playing hockey. Anyway I got ahold of Tony and he apoligizes for the wait and your patience but heres the deal it has nothing to do with them it has everything to do with Corbeau. It seems that the reason why most of you didnt get your seats is because more then likely you ordered the brackets as well. As it turned out (and I dont know why they didnt tell you this over the phone) Corbeau was short in stock with the brackets for our cars. So rather then just shipping the seats they have waited unitl they got the brackets in to more or less save on shipping charges since they charged you for what it would have been orignally. If they would have shipped it seperately it would have cost more in shipping. Since Corbeau does the shipping they didnt ship them seperately. However Mean Mustang was told by Corbeau that the brackets did come in and that all of our seats have been shipped out. So atleast you now know what the hold up was. Figure if they did send us the seats without the brackets what would you have done with them anyway? Let them lay around the house till you got the brackets? So I myself apoligize (dont know why) but thanks for holding out and not calling Tony repeatedly. As they had nothing to do with the problems for they where shipped directly from Corbeau. I believe Tony held out his end of the bargin by getting us the best damn price for these seats on the net.

Hey guys not sure if you are aware of whats going on but you should check out the www.camaroz28.com message board under the group purchase forum, posting "GP on corbeau racing seats". Things are not going well on mean mustangs side of this GP a lot of people have gotten quite angry and have been trying to figure out whats going on just as I have. No one can get ahold of mean mustang and people have called the FBI and the better buisness bureau in hopes to find an answer. If you havent already gotten your seats and have been waiting for a while I suggest you file something with your credit card company so you can get your money back. This deal has gone sour. I greatly apoligize for this going bad, although I dont have anything to do with mean mustang. I hope everyone makes out ok.
