I cleaned out my garage and found this sexy beast.

I don't know where to start. I bought this car in 1994 when I was in high school. It has the typical Kalifornia paint that flakes off. I either want to go back white or go with a flat black "road racer" look. Does the whole hood screaming chicken look right on 3rd gens? 305 TPI and factory 5 speed still runs good but is getting tired at 180,000 miles. I cringe at the thought of getting left behind by a Civic SI or STR4 Neon or any FWD! What's the best engine swap that is more less plug and play? ZZ4? Suspension is rebuilt but is still to high for my taste. I have Eibach pro kit with Tokiko dampers and aluminum rear control arms from Metco. I have kids and a budget so I'm in no hurry. Obviousally.
Input appreciated.

Nice ride!

Repaint it and enjoy it. Who cares about a rice burner anyway!

You could put the early 80's firebird decal that goes on your bulged hood, otherwise the early years of vented trans ams had a larger bird decal that in my opinion looked fantastic.

I have a friend who used to have a stock SRT-4 that ran a 14.0 1/4 mile. I have no idea what you'd have to swap into your car to compete with that but the 305 isn't likely to do the job.

That is a nice car! I really like the white with the gold wheels. I would look at the 84 T/A gold bird set and rock that bad ****.

As for power, just find a nice crate engine thats in your budget and drop it in with a mini ram or converted LT1 intake and kill the rice!

I also like the white paint and as the power goes I also had a 305 TBI and put all that I could in the motor and it still was slow so I pulled it and replaced with a 377 and soon to be a 76mm turbo

The wheels are Boyd Coddington. I forget the style number. They are 2 piece wheels from the custom shop. 18x9 front and 18x10 back. I got them about 8 years ago.
