i have an 84 berlinetta with a 350, sometimes when i start it and rev it, it puts out black smoke and it leaves residue on the snow, this doesnt happen all the time or when im driving that ive noticed, i know when i got the car it was sitting for maybe a month or so but im not sure, i was told its burning a little rich but i want to get some more opinions and find out if this is a serious problem...

yeah black smoke means your running a little rich but if it only happen wen you start it up then its fine its just burning the fuel that ypu pumped into it before starting
