I drive an 85 z28 camaro 5.0L v8 with an automatic transmission. I am writing because I just recently had a problem with my shifting that caused me to be unable to put my car in drive, neutral, reverse, etc. The problem was that my shift linkeage had come undone. I simply snapped it back into place when i lifted my car with jacks. I just wanted to know if I might be missing a nut or screw that made the shift linkeage come undone because it was far too easy to put back into place. Thank you for your time.

This info is for Pontiac's but I would assume Chevy's are the same.
Thanks for the diagram it really did help and there seems to be a significant amount of similarities. I might be missing part 5 assuming that holds the shift cable from coming undone. Guess only real way is to check once again, once again thanks for the diagram
