Driver side battery tray

Hi,

My battery tray has rusted pretty well and in some places has rotted right through. Other than that the car is pretty solid. I have been looking for replacement battery trays, but the only ones I have been able to find are for the passenger side. My battery is on the driver side. Does anyone know where I might be able to get a new LH side battery tray?

This is what I feared. Maybe what I would have to do is cut away the rusted areas and weld in patches of sheet metal in places where things have rotted through.
It's so strange that battery trays for the right hand side are quite plentiful.

I was just talking to my parts guy at the local GM Dealer and that part is no longer available.(PN 10092053)You will either have to fabricate one or look for somebody selling NOS Parts.Thankfully mine is AOK.

Could also try looking for a non-rusty car being parted out. Cut out extra and drill out the spot welds maybe?

I've had half a mind to modify mine so I could fit the next size up anyways. lol

Re: Driver side battery tray

I cut out metal to make a mounting plate for fourth gen battery tray/coolant reservoir. Im very happy with it and it didn't take very long at all.
