Leak in the body, can't find it
After washing my car today I decided to vacuum out the interior. When I removed the front passenger side floormat I noticed the carpet directly underneath the floormat was completely soaked. I looked throughout the rest of the interior to try to discern where the water came from and it was bonedry. I'm baffled. Any thoughts? I have a '90 IROC

Are you certain that it was water and not coolant?

Assuming it's not coolant, probably from the vent intake channel or windshield.

I've actually got the same problem. It was happening on just the driver's side but when I checked the car last week there was a pool of water on the passenger floor. I have no dash pad on and everything is always dry except the floor. Pulling the carpet, no holes. Floor actually looks great (I was surprised). I've had this phantom leak for almost a year. It's definitely not coolant for me.

food coloring, a few gallon milk jugs, different colors in each, pour over key places remembering that water can travel a distance from a leak.

if youre running A/C (for whatever reason this time of year) the vent can get plugged over the wintertime and it wont let condensation run outside of the car, it'll puddle up and into the car. had that issue with my truck last summer.

It's leaking right where the floorpan meets the firewall almost right under the dash. Pour some water down the cowl vents and look under the carpet, you'll see water permeating through the seem. I bet money on it.

Wow thanks for the overwhelming amount of responses. I'm brand new to these forums (just bought my IROC a few weeks ago) and I'm glad I chose this one. I'll check out a few of these ideas and get back with updates if anybody's interested. Thanks again guys!

I've checked by pouring water over the car again. Its definitely water and not coolant. Thanks for the heads up.
