88 Trans Am GTA Rear Hatch Motor
Hi,
I have just replaced the lock on the trunk on my 88 Trans Am GTA and now the pull down motor is stuck in the down position, and no matter what i do, i cant get it back up.
I have tried the screw driver trick of locking it and releasing it, and also crossing the terminals next to the lock, and i did it before to another car i had, but cant remember what i did.
Is there a way of fooling the motor into thinking its closed, and getting it to raise up to then grip the tail gate and pull it back down to close it? Because right now, it flaps in the wind.....?
Thanks
Greg

are the pull down fingers in the open position or the lock position?

right now they are in the lock, but even when they are in the open position, it dont seem to do much.
Am i right in thinking, that if it stops half way up or down, thats when it gets stuck and you have to screw with it?

You may have to rebuild it.Open it with the key and go from there.
