What do these stamped #'s mean?

I have a 92 Formula. What do these stamped numbers under the hood and on the fenders tell me? Does the number "92" mean these are the cars original fenders? Or does it mean nothing, or does it just mean they came off any 92? Trying to sort out and make sure of how many original parts are still on my car, but I don't have the Rosetta Stone for these numbers. Here is the pass fender.

Drivers fender (ignore the brush marks, it's just on the inside. I had some extra touch up and wanted to use it before it dried up, I'll sand and spray this area later)

Re: What do these stamped #'s mean?

92 is for the year "1992"

The other numbers are either part numbers OR one(or two) of them could be for the month.

If your car was one of the last ones made then it would make sense for the fenders to be date stamped with "92." Because the earlier 92 models would have parts stamped from 1991. Do you know the build date of your car?

Ok, this is kind of sweet. When I was working on the door a couple months back, I found the original build sheet in the door with the matching vin, and in the rear glove box was the original window sticker with the matching vin! That number on the nose 079235 is the schedule/job number that's on the build sheet, so that would tell me my car has never had any serious frontal collision, because this would have been destroyed. I didn't think to look at this till you asked me this, so thx! According to the vin, it was built in Van Nuys CA, and since I still have the original window sticker, I know it was shipped and sold at Brown Pontiac in Arlington, VA. This is a Virginia girl! The last 6 digits of the vin are over 220,000--so I'm guessing it was later on in the production run. July 92 maybe? So I guess that means I probably still have the original fenders on my car?

There should be a label applied to the driver's side door that will have the DOM on it.

You can kind of see it in the photo:

That's some awesome info/stuff to have!

Yup, it would appear that you have all the original goods on there

Re: What do these stamped #'s mean?

Don't have the door stickers. My car has been repainted at some point over the years, and these stickers have been lost. With all the documentation I have, this is the one thing I'd really like to have!
