so I just picked up some 83 tail lights how would I go about hooking them up , do I need the harness to go along with the 83 or can I splice. couldnt find a straight answer on any of the other threads.

 

The harness will be slightly different from your stock firebird harness. I switched from an 85 firebird (same lights used 1982-1985 in the base bird) to 85-90 Trans Am tail lights, and the harnesses are the same for those models.

I would look for any Trans Am harness from 82-90, or Firebird harness 82-85.
