is there a posibility of perfection?anyone
Hello to everyone in tgo! I have an 89 camaro wich I was inspired by my dad by his 83 camaro z28. Well getting back to the topic, when I bought the car to me it looked awsome by far view fell In love with my car etc. But when I startes to look at a detail angle well, imperfection is seen. I want to hear or see other personal experiences with what im having. Here is a bit of photos to give you guys details of what im talking about. Is there a possible way to perfect this?if so, how did you do it?

Lay out the bucks for a body guy to fix the gaps and paint issues,or learn to do it yourself.
Get rid of the pipe holding up the hood, struts ain't that expensive,go the the junkyard and get the correct hood stop.
My car ain't anywhere near prefect, but I drive the crap out of it and don't let the little things bother me.

There's always a possibility of perfection, If you have the ability to do the panel alignments have at it. If not you'll have to pay someone as nhgator mentioned.
Sure am glad I'm a smart a$$ (retired from the auto biz) and can do everything myself, Since I'm building my bird for shows everything MUST look right or I'm just wasting my time and that isn't happening.
Best advice I have is start in one area and get it look'n as you want no matter how long it takes, Then move to another section. Before you know it you'll have worked your way around and have everything taking care of the way you want it.
Good Luck !

Panel alignment is trickier than it sounds, you might spend hours trying to do what a bodyman can do for you in a half hour. I've heard the gaps on these cars weren't great from the factory but you should be able to get a heck of a lot better than that. If your car has had aftermarket replacement parts put on it gets tricker to get it perfect. Good luck!

Looks like it's been jacked up under the fenders.Check there first and see if the tab is straight down(under back of fender). If it's not, straighten that and that'll get you really close. Then loosen that bolt and pull down.Having a friend pull outward at top of fender if you need help pulling it down helps alot.
Get the fenders aligned to the front of the doors first, hood last.Alot of things to take loose to let the nose move over to allow the front of the fenders to move left and right.
The hoodstop is that bolt in the pic with no rubber cap on it.
The chin spoiler overhang is the way it's made.Would take alot of time to trim it back to flush mount it.Or use filler to make a smoothe transition to the nose.

You can do it. I had to re-hang my door last month. The PO had it screwed up, about 1/8" too far back and 1/8" low. Just that little bit of misalignment made it look awful and shut wrong. Just start from the back and move forward. But doors, fenders, hoods, bumpers are all moveable. Take your time, look at it closely and you can do it. Spending 8 hours doing it youreself beats the HECK out of paying a body guy $300 to do it in a half hour! Plus, you learn how to do it on the way (knowledge is money) and get the satisfaction of knowing YOU did it!
